Train Your Workforce

We Can Help Your Business Stay Competitive
Did you know that The State of California will pay for valuable employee training? Since 1983, California employers have funded training for their workers through the Employment Training Panel (ETP), a state agency that assists employers in strengthening their competitive edge by providing funds to offset the costs of job-skills training necessary to maintain high-performance workplaces.

ETP training funds are available at no out-of-pocket cost to the employer, strengthening their competitive edge by providing funds to offset the costs of job-skills training needed to maintain high-performance workplaces.  ETP funds training for currently employed (incumbent) workers and individuals who are unemployed at the start of training. It’s a fact. Highly trained workers have an undeniable edge – every $1 in ETP funds produces a return on investment of more than $5.

JVS SoCal can help you develop a skilled and competitive workforce
We have nearly a decade of experience helping companies secure state funding for worker training, custom training development, and project management. We’ll provide free consultation to determine your workforce needs, complete the grant application and all supplemental forms and help to secure the largest possible grant. We will also provide ongoing project management and support, acting as your advocate with ETP.

Rapid Response

Guiding Your Business Through Times of Transition
JVS SoCal has the tools to help guide your business through periods of transition with a program called Rapid Response. We can assist your management team with layoff aversion or lessen the impact of downsizing, relocation or closure on your workforce. The program is customized to your needs, fully confidential and convenient.

Rapid Response provides an expert team that includes workforce development specialists from the America’s Job Centers, the Department of Labor and the Employment Development Department (EDD). Funded by L.A. County, we partner with employers facing reductions in workforce or layoffs to assist their displaced workers transition to new careers.

Getting started:

  • Notify the Rapid Response team as early as you can when you are considering a layoff
  • Schedule an initial meeting with our team to receive an overview of available services and develop an action plan
  • The Rapid Response team will set up a group orientation and informational workshops at your worksite, as well as conduct job skills assessments for your displaced staff

We will provide your employees with valuable information on:

  • Accessing unemployment and other benefits
  • Addressing insurance needs
  • Guidance on effective job searches
  • Additional resources and referrals to assist in the transition and job search
