Job Description and Duties:

This Youth Facilitator/Job Developer will initiate, maintain, and develop employer relationships with the purpose of placing Youth clients into Paid Work Experience or long-term employment.

The Youth Facilitator/Job Developer will also have the responsibility of facilitating Work Readiness workshops for Youth to prepare them for Work Experience and/or permanent employment.

The Youth Facilitator/Job Developer develops employment opportunities primarily through recruitments and working closely with Youth Career Coaches in finding and placing Youth in internships and/or long-term jobs.

This Youth Facilitator/Job Developer will be responsible for developing and conducting group format workshops.  The BSR makes between 10-20 cold calls per week to perspective employers. They conduct presentations to various groups/businesses as it pertains to job placement goals and partner agencies.

The YF/JD will also coach participants on interview skills, facilitate job readiness workshops and assist clients in writing targeted resumes if needed.

The YF/JC must maintain records and update case notes in the State database. Must meet contract goals for job placement, training completion, and job retention.

Other duties assigned as needed for the efficient operation of the Center/Program. Must meet weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly program goals as set by Program Supervisor.

This is a four-month contract that may turn into permanent employment.

 

Qualifications and Position Requirements:
Proven track record in business-to-business sales in a performance driven occupation. Must have experience in sales. Demonstrated track-record of collaborating in teams. Requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Requires the ability to understand labor market information and employer requirements. Must be very comfortable and have the ability to cold call, network and open new business. Public speaking and presentations are mandated. Must be highly organized, detail orientated and work within time restraints and deadlines. Work flexible hours, early morning, evenings and weekends may be required. Knowledge of WIOA common measures and requirement are a plus. Proficient in Microsoft office products including Outlook, Work, Excel and PowerPoint. Must be assertive, friendly and willing to work flexible hours to meet objectives and goals.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Will work in an office environment, travel to employer and client work sites. May be required to work some evenings and an occasional weekend day. Must be able to operate standard office equipment. Requires traveling to various business and other work sites. Welcomes customers and identifies customer needs and expectations to create a positive customer experience. Meet and exceed performance and outcome goals as set by the county funding agency and abide to contract requirements.Follows labor market trends to identify industries or occupations with growth in openings and employment potential. Provides referrals to community partner/agencies/resources as necessary.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:
Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with stakeholders in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills. Prior experience with dislocated worker and high-risk populations is helpful.  Skill in facilitating groups, writing resumes and working with diverse population is useful. Have fluency in Microsoft Office software and other relevant software.  Ideally, a minimum of 2 years of experience in Workforce Development or career counseling. Knowledge of CalJOBSSM system very helpful.

Must be detail oriented and have the ability to write clear, concise, professional case notes. Must be able to read and write effectively to follow and understand procedures and communicate necessary information (excellent organizational skills). Must be flexible, reliable, dependable and able to work in TEAM environment. Ability to use good judgment, interview techniques and interpersonal skills.

Education/Certification/Licensure
BA preferred or 3 or more years of related experience.
Preferred:    Bilingual in Spanish or other community-based language.
