PURPOSE OF POSITION
To develop, establish and build long-term cooperative relationships with private and non-profit employers, business owners, community organizations and other stakeholders to create employment and customized training opportunities for the West LA WorkSource/AJCC job seeking participants. To lead the West LA Team in developing strategies and opportunities to meet or exceed the contract’s job placement goals.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
To work collaboratively with your manager, team members and other departments and programs and lead the West LA team in developing innovative and creative ways to attract and retain employer and other partnerships, with the goal of meeting the contract and compliance guidelines and job placement outcomes for the West LA WSC and other funding sources.
Develop and oversee sales, marketing, recruitment, on-the-job training (OJT) and outreach activities to recruit quality and top-notch employers and business owners to participate in the placement of the enrolled customers within our WorkSource and related contract programs.
Identifying the business needs i.e. staffing, training, tax incentives, and informing businesses of service options and resources. All activities should be designed and focused on helping the Work Source Centers to meet agency and workforce contract goals. Achieving such goals will require you to spend a large part of your daily time in the field and on the telephone developing relationships with employers and other stakeholder groups.
Foster partnerships with businesses, employers, community and other organizations to identify job, training and other opportunities for West LA WSC enrolled customers seeking jobs and other opportunities.
As needed, meet with West LA WSC enrolled customers to identify particular skill levels and job needs and to assist in assessing the customer’s work-readiness or readiness for training or other opportunities related to the needs of a particular employer or partner.
Monthly participation on the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) team to enhance, ensure and promote continuous program improvement initiatives and quality assurance activities meet standards as established by the agency and the funding source.
Prepare monthly and quarterly reports in accordance with contractual reporting guidelines
Perform other tasks as assigned and approved by your manager or supervisor.
COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND OUTREACH
Coordinate and participate in major business recruitment outreach activities to attract employers and customers to business services that will assist in meeting customer enrollment standards as specified within the West LA WSC/AJCC contract and agency goals.

Collaborate and work as a Business Services Lead to ensure the overall success of the West LA team in meeting or exceeding performance/job placement goals and contractual compliance. With the support and guidance of your manager, seek opportunities to work with departments and programs within the agency to work towards success of the West LA Team and other programs and initiatives.

|High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in social services or business related fields a plus and preferred.||Knowledge of workforce and hiring trends and best practices.|
|Must have a minimum of 5+ years staffing, sales, recruitment, job development, marketing and/or outreach experience.||Computer savvy; working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suites and related technology and software.|
|Ability to drive and access to a personal vehicle; valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.|
|May require sitting or standing for up to 6-8 hours.||Bending at the waist, kneeling or crouching to file materials, make copies and other office administrative tasks.|
|Occasional reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally to perform certain office and other administrative tasks.||Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs. occasionally.|
