Job Description and Duties:

The Program Associate will provide work in several programs within the organization. Weekly hours will be spent in the WoMentoring Program (30 hours) and the performing data collection in our Jewish programs (10 hours).

REQUIREMENTS

  • BA in social services, counseling, workforce development, or similar field and/or 1-3 years of experience working as a Program Associate or similar position
  • Proficiency in use of PC, including Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Zoom and Internet web browsers is required
  • Must be a self-starter, well organized in handling time and materials
  • Must be able to learn quickly and follow instructions precisely
  • Must be reliable and responsible in work habits
  • Must be accurate and neat, with strict attention to detail
  • Must have clear and effective oral communication skills and a courteous and effective telephone manner
  • Must be able to operate well in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and cooperative manner required with an ability to interact effectively with clients, partners, vendors and co-workers

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

WoMentoring is a career development program that offers women with defined career objectives the unique opportunity to be paired with a mentor who is an established professional in the mentee’s field of choice. Program Associate responsibilities in the WoMentoring Program:

  • Phone screening/intake.
  • Answer questions about the program and assess whether to encourage inquirer to submit an application
  • Receive, review and track applications
  • Schedule, track and participate in prospective mentee interviews
  • Work with mentees to create personalized career goals
  • Prepare binders, training materials and reports
  • Track and maintain mentor and mentee information, participant updates, and assist with mailing list of program graduates
  • Co-lead trainings/meetings including PowerPoint presentations, and handouts

The Ezra Network and Career Focus are programs funded in partnership with the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles to provide job search preparedness and coaching to the Jewish Community and career counseling. If additional programs are added to the services offered, the Program Associate will have similar responsibilities as those described below. Program Associate responsibilities in the Jewish programs are administrative and include:

  • Track program outcomes
  • Create and distribute follow-up surveys
  • Reach out to former clients
  • Create additional tracking documents as requested to monitor program performance
  • Additional responsibilities as requested

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the essential functions of this job, the incumbent must be able to do the following: stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; bend and reach for filing and other job-related functions; climb up and down stairs; bend, stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull, push, and lift; reach both above and below shoulder height. Specific visual abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to visually inspect work. Manual dexterity to operate computer and other office equipment required.
