Program Description:
JVSWorks programs provide opportunity to individuals with barriers to employment to embark upon a career in a high growth/high demand business sector. ApartmentWorks culminates in participants achieving the National Apartment Association’s Certificate for Apartment Maintenance Technicians. JVSWorks programs all include technical training, case management, job placement support and job retention support.

Job Description and Duties:
The primary responsibility of the ApartmentWorks Program Supervisor is to achieve outcomes related to:

  • Number of participants enrolled in the programs
  • Participant program completion rate
  • Participant placement rate
  • Participant job retention rate

Outcomes will be achieved by way of:

Program Coordination

  • Overall quality assurance
  • Recruitment, screening, assessment and selection of qualified program participants
  • Coordination of information meetings, assessments, program materials and classroom readiness
  • Coordination and oversight of external/contract trainers
  • Participant compliance with program requirements
  • Participant case management
  • Delivery of job search readiness and related workshops
  • Curriculum maintenance and updating
  • Coordination of graduation/job fair events with employers attending
  • Verification of participant employment and wages for 12 months following placement
  • Program alumni engagement

Employer/Partner Stewardship:

  • Recruit new employers and nurture existing partners for program engagement, job fair participation, hiring, and financial support of program
  • Identification of and engagement with new employer/partners
  • Conduct periodic roundtables with employer/partner representatives to assess quality and relevance of training and to boost engagement
  • Community partner development and nurturance


  • Maintain electronic and paper files in an audit-ready fashion
  • Ensure 100% compliance with California Employment Training Panel data entry and billing requirements
  • Properly process external/contract trainer invoices

Qualifications and Position Requirements:
The successful candidate will be an outcomes-driven individual with prior success in a variety of disciplines that include:

  • Program development, management and execution
  • Case management
  • Counseling
  • Human resources development; training and presentations
  • Working with low- to moderate-income individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Working with lay leadership in a not-for-profit environment
  • Recruitment and engagement of employers
  • Participation in fund raising efforts with employers

Additionally, the successful candidate must offer: strong career development and coaching skills, organizational skills, resourcefulness, initiative, entrepreneurial spirit, attention to detail, ability to perform comfortably in a business and social service environment, strong written and oral communication/presentation skills, strong interpersonal skills, a high level of tact and diplomacy, public speaking capability, professional appearance, proficient in Microsoft Office applications and internet tools, knowledge of on-line career-related resources, social media savvy.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Must be able to operate standard office equipment. Professional office attire required. Will work in business, classroom and various other settings; Will be required to make presenta-tions, interview potential participants and transport materials to and from locations Must be able to travel to various locations around greater Los Angeles; When program is in session, will be required to work evenings; May be required to work an occasional weekend day.
