Job Description and Duties:
Welcomes customers and identifies customer needs and expectations to create a positive customer experience. Administers and interprets a variety of assessment tools. Assists veterans to identify goals, as well as prepare for, search for, and retain employment. Guides veteran job seekers, develops individual employment and training plans that address employer needs and job-seeker capabilities. Engages job-seekers to keep them motivated and matches customers with available job opportunities. Inputs all case notes and activities on the same day of service.

Understands WIOA requirements and performance measures. Is knowledgeable about the range of services in the community and develops and maintains relationships with partners to deliver a comprehensive array of services to customers. Will make group presentations and may deliver workshops in the areas of resume preparation, interviewing techniques, social media and on-line presence. Must be available to work flexible hours including evenings and some Saturdays. Will complete other tasks as required to fulfill the requirements of contracts. Is responsible for WIOA performance outcomes including enrollments and placements. Matches job seeker with employers.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:
Must have a passion to work and connect in Veteran related areas. Demonstrated experience communicating effectively with stakeholders in written and oral form, including electronic media, using positive interpersonal skills. Prior experience with veterans and high-risk populations is helpful. Skill in facilitating groups, writing resumes and working with diverse population. Fluency in Microsoft Office software and other relevant software. Requires a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Workforce Development or career counseling.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Office or classroom environment in fast paced setting. Must be able to lift 15 lbs with a fair amount of sitting, answering telephones, and movement within the Career Center.
Requires traveling to various work sites (10-20%). May be required to work some evenings and/or weekends.

Education/Certification/Licensure:
BA or BS degree in Career Counseling, Communications, or other related field.

Prior Military Experience highly desirable.
