As the Veterans AJCC Program Manager, you will have a direct impact in the lives of the Veterans we serve. Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

The Veterans AJCC Program Manager oversees operations and drives the results of the Veterans America’s Job Center of California (VAJCC) in an integrated services delivery environment. The Program Manager ensures service deliverables and contract specifications; interprets and applies current relevant federal, state and local regulations and requirements; and grant program and JVS SoCal guidelines, policies and procedures to accomplish successful program delivery and management. You will assure program performance is consistent with contract requirements by effective supervision and training of staff, managing program processes, analyzing data and staying current with employment and business service trends. You understand eligibility criteria across all programs and WIOA common measures and will ensure the team’s adherence to them. You will work with the team to incorporate pending WIOA program requirements. This position will maintain and role model a positive work environment at all times.

The Program Manager works with leaders of partner agencies to ensure appropriate collaboration, leveraging of services, and continuous quality improvement practices. This position may serve as spokesperson and represent JVS SoCal and/or Veteran Services in the community.

In collaboration with the Veteran Services Operations Manager, the Program Manager plans, develops, establishes and implements grant/program budgets, monitors program delivery and performance against program budgets, objectives and outcomes; reviews and monitors program expenditures to ensure compliance with funding requirements and regulations; and you will develop new performance strategies to ensure services meet the needs of the Veterans we serve.

This position is responsible for planning and evaluating the performance of assigned staff; establishing performance requirements and personal development targets; regularly monitoring performance and providing coaching for performance improvement and development; recommending compensation and providing other rewards as appropriate to recognize performance. When necessary and subject to management concurrence, the Program Manager will take disciplinary action against a staff member, up to and including termination, to address performance deficiencies. The Program Manager will track client data in required internal and State databases to drive results across programs.

Education and Qualifications:

  • BA in Business, Social Work, or related degree.

Qualifications and Position Requirements:

This position requires strong communication and leadership skills. Timeliness and attention to detail are essential and knowledge of WIOA common measures and requirements are desirable. The ideal candidate will have success taking the initiative in work projects at in working as a part of a team. You are proficient in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The ideal candidate is assertive, friendly and willing to work flexible hours to meet objectives and goals.

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:

This position will work in an office environment, with travel to employer and client work sites. You may be required to work some evenings and an occasional weekend day. You must be able to operate standard office equipment.
