Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The Veterans Information Technology Vocational Training Team Lead (VITVTTL) plans, develops and implements the Los Angeles Veterans Technology Training Academy (LAVTTA) in support of program deliverables and contract specifications; interprets and applies current applicable federal, statestate, and local regulations and requirements; and grant program and JVS SoCal guidelines, policiespolicies, and procedures to accomplish successful program delivery and management.
Assures project performance is consistent with contract requirements, coordinating program processes, analyzing data and staying current with employment and Veteran service trends. Understands eligibility criteria, WIOA common measures, and program outcomes. Must be familiar with WIOA policy and procedures in order toto identify opportunities to enhance, leverage and support exiting Veteran programs.
The VITVT Team Lead serves as the LAVTTA spokesperson and will represent LAVTTA in the community. You will conduct targeted outreach to recruit eligible Veterans for LAVTTA; develop working relationships with other agencies that provide services to Veterans; and ensure appropriate collaboration and leveraging of services. The VITVT Team Lead will provide thorough program updates at all LAVTTA program meetings with external partners and collaborators.
The VITVT Team Lead will host informational sessions regarding LAVTTA and manage the eligibility and selection processes for LAVTTA candidates. You will provide comprehensive case management to the cohort, facilitatefacilitate, and coordinate professional development workshops and resources, and track client data in internal and State databases through data entry and comprehensive case notes. As this is an evolving program, you will be able to adapt to incorporate other duties assigned as needed for the efficient operation of LAVTTA.
Education and Qualifications:
- BA in Business, Social Service, or related degree.
- Prior experience working in Veterans programs is desired. Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply.
Qualifications and Position Requirements:
Requires a high level of communication and coordination skills. Strong interpersonal skills and high analytic aptitude are musts. Timeliness and attention to detail are essential. Must have initiative and at the same time be able to work as part of a team. Proficient in Microsoft office products including Word and Excel. Must be assertive, friendlyfriendly, and willing to work flexible hours to meet objectives and goals.
Will work in an office environment, with travel to various work sites. Must be able to operate standard office equipment.
