JVS SoCal’s Response to COVID-19
JVS SoCal is committed to providing clients with programs and services in this difficult time, while maintaining a healthy and safe environment and following guidelines to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus.
Here is an update by location and program:
Disability and Assessment Center: Staff are conducting online assessments and providing support to Department of Rehabilitation clients by phone and email while our program site at 6505 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 200, is temporarily closed. Click here for contact information.
GAIN/GROW assessments are being provided both virtually and in-person at the West LA AJCC every Friday. The Department of Public Social Services office near the airport remains closed to the public. Click here for contact information.
West Hollywood Career Resource Center (WeHoWorks): Staff are on site providing services remotely by way of phone, online, email and fax while the library is temporarily closed to the public. Click here for contact information.
Greater Avenues for Independence (GAIN): The GAIN program remains operational in all of our locations: Chatsworth, Palmdale, Santa Clarita and Glendale but is closed to the public. Per direction from LA County Department of Public Social Services, GAIN staff will be providing critical services to participants by way of phone, email and fax. JVSWorks: All JVSWorks orientations and career training programs have resumed operation utilizing virtual learning and limited in-person classes with strict observance of mask wearing, physical distancing and sanitization. JVSWorks staff is currently accepting applications, working with graduates to find placement with employer-partners, and answering questions by phone and email. America’s Job Centers/WorkSource Centers (West LA AJCC, South LA AJCC, Veterans AJCC, Lancaster AJCC, Palmdale AJCC): All AJCC services sites are temporarily providing services by phone, online, email, and appointment-only while staff on premises is limited.
Veterans AJCC at Patriotic Hall remains closed to the public and is provided services temporarily through the Potrero Heights Community Center. Click here for contact information.
General Relief Opportunity for Work (GROW): GROW program staff are conducting classes virtually. Our offices in Glendale, Lancaster, Sun Valley and Pasadena are temporarily closed to the public. Click here for contact information.
Refugee Employment and Acculturation Services (REAS): REAS program staff will be providing services by phone and email while our offices in Glendale, Canoga Park, Pasadena, and Culver City are temporarily closed pending further guidance from LA County DPSS. Click here for contact information.
JVS Scholarship Program, WoMentoring, Jewish Community Programs and JVS Headquarters: Staff members are working remotely with minimal interruption to operations. Staff can retrieve files and receive deliveries by appointment only. Click here for contact information.
Santa Monica Youth Employment Program (SMYEP): The Virginia Avenue Park Office is closed. Staff are servicing clients remotely by way of phone, email and fax.
