JVS SoCal’s Response to COVID-19

JVS SoCal is committed to providing clients with programs and services in this difficult time, while maintaining a healthy and safe environment and following guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Here is an update by location and program:

JVS Headquarters: Staff are on site providing services virtually and by appointment. Customers can call 323.761.8888.

Disability and Assessment Center: Staff are conducting both in-person and virtual Comprehensive Vocational Evaluations.  Click here for contact information.

GAIN Assessments: Staff are providing both virtual and in-person Vocational Assessments at the Department of Public Social Services near the airport, due to COVID restrictions. Click here for contact information.

West Hollywood Career Resource Center (WeHoWorks): Staff are providing both in-person and remotely by phone, email, and online. Click here for contact information.

Greater Avenues for Independence (GAIN): The GAIN program remains operational in all our locations: Chatsworth, Palmdale, Santa Clarita, and Glendale, and is open to the public. Per direction from LA County Department of Public Social Services, GAIN staff will be providing critical services to participants by way of phone, mail, and fax. Participants are also welcomed in-person as the COVID restrictions for the Los Angeles County building have been lifted. Click here for contact information.

JVSWorks: All JVSWorks orientations and career training programs have resumed operation utilizing virtual learning and limited in-person classes with strict observance of wearing masks, physical distancing, and sanitization. JVSWorks staff is currently accepting applications, working with graduates to find placement with employer-partners, and answering questions by phone and email. America’s Job Centers/WorkSource Centers (West LA AJCC, South LA AJCC, Veterans AJCC, Lancaster AJCC, Palmdale AJCC): All AJCC sites are providing both in-person and virtual services by phone, email, and online. Click here for contact information.

Refugee Employment and Acculturation Services (REAS): REAS program staff are providing services by phone, appointment, and walk-ins. Our offices in Glendale, Canoga Park, Pasadena, and Culver City are open to the public. Click here for contact information.

JVS Scholarship Program, WoMentoring, and Jewish Community Programs: Staff are on site providing services virtually and by appointment.   Customers can call to reserve a computer station for job search activities. Click here for contact information.
