Our family supports the JVS Scholarship Program for the great work they do to help young people achieve their academic dreams. The mission of Team JVS is to raise funds and provide qualified students, who are at the poverty level, with financial assistance through grants from the JVS Scholarship Program.
On Saturday, March 7, 2020, we will be running/walking with Team JVS at the 2020 LA BIG 5K at Dodger Stadium and we would like to ask for your support.
We were thrilled to raise enough funds to support five students last year. One of our students, Alexa Kendell, is an undergraduate at UC Davis enrolled with a double major in Political Science and Philosophy with a minor in Professional Writing. She graduated high school with a 4.0 GPA and was the editor/journalist of the school newspaper.
Alexa Kendell
Alexa comes from a single-parent household and has watched her mother struggle to support her and her sister. From an early age she understood that in order to attend college, she would have to have a stellar academic record in order to secure scholarships and work opportunities. To help with expenses, she babysits for multiple families and worked weekends as a Camp Counselor. Alexa is thrilled to be a JVS Scholarship recipient and thankful for the generous support.
