The goal of our youth programs is to prepare at-risk young people for productive lives by training them to be job ready and assisting with their educational and career paths.

We provide the expert guidance, support and resources youth need to become self-sufficient through job readiness training, unpaid as well as subsidized internships, work experience opportunities, plus job search and placement assistance.

WIOA Youth Employment Program

Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act (WIOA) program serves out-of-school youth ages 17 to 24 in Los Angeles County. Participants receive an array of services, from job readiness workshops to college and career exploration, vocational training, financial literacy, work experience, and on-the-job training opportunities in the local community.

This WIOA Title I financially assisted program or activity is an equal opportunity employer/program. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.

Through WIOA and the Youth Employment Program, eligible youth, ages 14 to 24 in Los Angeles County can gain valuable work experience and learn valuable life skills while earning an income.

Santa Monica Community Youth Program

Operating within the City of Santa Monica and targeted area high schools, this program provides career planning services, job search assistance and work experience to Opportunity Youth. SMCYP assists youth to reach educational goals through internships and intensive coaching and case management and overcoming barriers to employment.

If you are a low-income Santa Monica youth facing challenges getting back to school, obtaining a High School diploma or GED, enrolling in college, on probation, or are unemployed, we can help. Santa Monica Community Youth Program provides career-planning services, job search assistance, paid work experience and employment opportunities to youth ages 16 to 24.

Employment Pathways

Through a partnership with the Los Angeles County Department of Probation, the Employment Pathways program is designed to help probation youth ages 16 to 18 become engaged in their education and ultimately prepared for employment. Using assessments and intensive case management, we help students reach their educational and employment goals.

Program Benefits

This program provides:

  • Linkage and enrollment to college
  • GED or High School Diploma assistance
  • Guidance filling out college paperwork and applying for FAFSA
  • Career Planning and Development Workshops
  • Connection to community resources and referrals

Eligibility

  • Youth 16-18 yrs. old
  • Residents of Los Angeles County
  • This program is a referral-based program through partnership with the Los Angeles County Probation Offices. Must be referred by a Deputy Probation Officer.
