Transform a Life

Work transforms lives. A job is the key to dignity, independence, and opportunity. For every individual JVS SoCal empowers to achieve sustainable employment, we help to build stronger families and communities and ultimately a stronger economy. But we cannot do it alone.

Our work is only made possible by the generosity of our donors and partners. JVS SoCal strategically combines support from private donors, government agencies, corporate partners and foundations to create successful, award winning programs that provide hope and economic opportunity for all.

Banc of California is a proud supporter of JVS SoCal and their commitment to empower individuals to achieve economic independence. The programs and services provided by JVS SoCal lead to transformative outcomes. The impact that a stable job creates is not only felt with the individual but uplifts their families and communities.

Vice President, CRA Officer, Banc of California

“We are particularly interested in programs for people with special needs to become self-sufficient and successful. We found that opportunity at JVS SoCal with their Disabilities and Assessment program and wonderful staff. Other planned giving options to consider:

You have the opportunity to create a personal legacy by including a provision in your will or living trust for JVS SoCal. A bequest can also provide a significant estate tax deduction. It also ensures that your money is directed to a cause of your choosing while reducing government and probate costs.

You can include JVS SoCal in your will or living trust and ensure that your support will continue in perpetuity. You can use one or more of the following paragraphs to include in your estate plan:

Dollar Amount: “I give, devise and bequeath to JVS SoCal – Federal Tax I.D. number is 95-1691012, a California non-profit public benefit corporation, 6505 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90048, the sum of $ ______________.”

Specific Property: “I give, devise and bequeath to JVS SoCal – Federal Tax I.D. number is 95-1691012, a California non-profit public benefit corporation, 6505 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90048, my interest in (describe the property and exact location).”

Percentage of Residue: “I give, devise and bequeath to JVS SoCal – Federal Tax I.D. number is 95-1691012, a California non-profit public benefit corporation, 6505 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 200, Los Angeles, CA 90048, ________ percent of the residue of my estate.”

If you have highly appreciated, low yield assets, consider transferring those assets to a charitable remainder trust. Benefits can include no immediate capital gains tax, reinvestment of the full proceeds of the sale, higher income from a formerly low-yield asset, and a charitable income deduction.

If you wish to make a larger contribution to JVS SoCal than you are currently able to, a life insurance policy may be the way to accomplish your goal. By transferring ownership of a paid policy to JVS, you can benefit from an immediate income tax deduction while leaving a lasting legacy.

Although a monetary gift is the easiest way to donate, you may find the most tax-advantaged way to make an outright gift is by donating stock or other appreciated property that you have owned for more than a year. We will work with you and your advisers to plan your gift in the most effective way to meet your needs and circumstances.

An endowment gift to JVS SoCal today provides a brighter picture for our future. When you make a donation to our endowment fund, you give a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits. Endowment donations are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs at JVS SoCal. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support.

For all Planned Giving needs, please contact Randy Lapin, Sr. VP of Philanthropy at (323) 761-8598 or at .
